The Emergency Preparedness Division strengthens the Macon County Health Department’s response to potential or actual emergencies that may affect the health of our community through funding provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The division also recruits, manages, and trains the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC).

Programs and Services

Medical Reserve Corps

Our Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) consists of local residents of medical and public health professionals and non-medical community members who volunteer and contribute their skills and expertise throughout the year as well as during times of community need. The MRC’s assistance in community outreach, public education, and emergency response are invaluable not only to the MCHD, but also to the community. For information about becoming a volunteer, call (217) 423-6988 ext: 1163.
