MCHD & MMAD Tire Drive
To mark the conclusion of National Mosquito Control Awareness Week, the Macon County Health Department (MCHD) and the Macon Mosquito Abatement District (MMAD) are teaming up to host a tire recycling event for Macon County residents. The event will take place on Thursday, June 25th, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Unused or discarded tires can collect standing water and become ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes. By offering a convenient and responsible disposal option, MCHD and MMAD aim to help reduce mosquito populations and minimize the risk of mosquito-borne diseases in the community. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to promote public health and environmental safety.
Residents are encouraged to participate and take proactive steps in protecting their neighborhoods from mosquito-related health risks.
