DECATUR, IL- The Macon County Health Department (MCHD) is hosting back-to-school events starting July 21st through October 13th. All Macon County students are welcome to attend and will have access to age/grade appropriate immunizations, physicals, lead testing, and dental screenings on select dates. These events are walk-in only, on a first-come, first-served basis. Below is a list of upcoming events and the services provided at each event.

July 21, September 15, October 1, and October 13

Services available- Physicals, immunizations, and lead testing

Time- 9:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M. (physicals)

8:30–11:30 A.M. and 1:00–3:30 P.M. (immunizations and lead testing)

August 1

Services available- Physicals, car seat checks, lead testing, immunizations, dental screening, backpacks, resource fair and balloon animals

Time- 9:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.

August 11

Services available- Physicals, immunizations, lead testing, dental screenings, and blood drive

Time- 9:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M. (physicals)

8:30–11:30 A.M. and 1:00–3:30 P.M. (immunizations, lead testing, and dental screenings)

10:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. (blood drive)

August 13 and October 6

Services available- Physicals, immunizations and lead testing

Time- 9:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M.

*Parents and Guardians: Please bring an insurance card and records, if possible.

If a person is not able attend this event, please call 217-423-6988 option 2 to schedule an appointment. The MCHD encourages those needing back-to-school requirements (vaccinations, physicals, etc.) to not wait until the school’s denial date.
