MCHD/MADD/MCEM Tire Drive

The Macon County Health Department (MCHD), Macon Mosquito Abatement District (MMAD), and Macon County Environmental Management (MCEM) will be partnering to hold a tire drive for residents in Macon County on Thursday, June 22nd from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Unused/discarded tires can quickly become prime breeding grounds for mosquitos. The MCHD, MMAD, and MCEM will be working to eliminate some of the barriers associated with tire disposal to decrease mosquito-borne infections and illnesses.


What: Tire Drive to collect rimless passenger tires

Who is Invited to Participate: Macon County residents

When: Thursday, June 22nd from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Where: Macon Mosquito Abatement District, 3755 Cundiff Rd., Decatur, IL


Those who choose to participate should bring proof of residency.


Up to 10 rimless passenger tires will be accepted per residence. No lawnmower tires, semi-truck tires, tractor tires, or tires from local tire shops will be accepted at this event.
